What about a podcast that was driven by listener requests? Neat idea and while I think all podcasters take requests to some extent, I wonder if an entire show could be built upon it.
Scott Johnson over at Fuzzy Blog is thinking that maybe it can be. Before he starts podcasting, Scott is taking topic requests.
I don't get the sense that Scott is doing this for any business reason, but it begs the question if there might be a business model for this type of show. There are radio and television call-in shows that do well, but given the time-shifted nature of podcasting, I'm not sure if it would fly.
The Linux Link Tech Show is a show that is streamed live and offered as a podcast later. Perhaps a model like that would work well.
Someone needs to try it. You - yes you. Try it!
