I stand corrected when I say that the only people making money from podcasting aren't podcasters.
John Romano's Best of Los Angeles music podcast has been picked up by Avant Garde a Clue record company and will be producing a 13-song album.
"So many of the artists I play on the show are people I've known from LA for the past five years who are just really gaining exposure. Helping a great group of local artists move forward is very rewarding".
The licensing issues should be interesting on this one. Presumably, the music played on Romano's podcast to date has either been licensed to him by the unsigned bands or licensed to the world, making it "podsafe". What happens when that music becomes part of the Avanat Garde a Clue repetoire? Does Romano have to take the podcasts containing that music down?
