The International Herald Tribune has recently launched a 'make your own' podcast service. Users can visit the site, select the stories that they'd like to hear, and download them onto their digital audio player.
Now that's good use of the technology. Take the 'on demand' part of podcasting and really put it to work.
I signed up for the free account, but sadly, I don't see how to use the service as advertised. I had no problem finding the stories and selecting the ones I wanted to listen to via checkboxes, but there seems to be no way to actually download the news bits I've checked en masse. Just a download button for each individual bit which kind of defeats the purpose of the checkboxes.
I've left them feedback and I'll update this entry with whatever information they send me.
