Podshow launched today amid a flurry of criticism. It's normal for a new service to take its fair share of heat, but the guys at Podshow have really messed up.
It seems that Curry and his friends have decided that it's OK to rewrite the RSS feeds of the podcasters that are in the Podshow directory. For reasons which I'm sure will become clear within the next few days, many tags are stripped out and others are altered to reflect Podshow ownership rather than the original podcaster.
Todd Cochrane has some screenshots of his original feed and the modified Podshow feed over on Geek News Central. Podshow has stripped out Todd's copyright info, some of his iTunes tags, and added Podshow as the webmaster.
The sole voice of reason amid the furor is Paul Colligan who feels that these things are obvious mistakes and not evil doings. As of this writing, Podshow has locked their doors, so I tend to agree with Paul. The Podshow site just shows a "Be Patient!" title and a video (that admittedly I can't hear because Flash on Linux sucks).
Regardless of the reasons, this is a pretty pitiful launch. Update: Podshow has corrected their feed issues and Curry has commented that it was just a "silly mistake".
