Create an RSS Landing Page
To many people, RSS is a completely new concept they know nothing about. When
those people click your RSS link, what do they see? A bunch of meaningless XML
code. Needless to say, this does not give a good first impression of RSS. You need
to make it easy for your site visitor to start using your newsfeed - now.

If you've ever viewed a Feedburner feed (), you'll have seen that FB does exactly what Josiah recommends. They provide a landing page so that if a person clicks on my RSS icon, they are presented with something meaningful that explains what they're looking at.
Given that many polls are showing that most podience members don't make use of RSS feeds, I wonder if wide-spread adoption of an RSS landing page might pump those numbers up a bit. Perhaps one of the reasons podcatching adoption is so low is due to confusion on the part of the listener.
