For clarity, I define mobilecatching as the act of downloading and listening to podcasts on a handheld device of some ilk. I'm not talking about downloading shows to your computer and then transferring them to a portable player, I'm talking about doing it sans computer entirely. Subscribing, downloading, and listening on a cell phone, for example.
I've already determined that this isn't really feasible in Canada due to the restrictive data plans of the national cellular providers, but that's not what I'm after.
The question is:
If bandwidth wasn't a concern, how likely would you be to listen to podcasts on your phone or wireless PDA?
Before you answer, consider the practicalities of it. Assuming we're talking about a cell phone, consider that your phone would likely be out of comission while you're listening to a show. Further, consider how you would handle things like battery life and, if you use a wireless PDA like me, how you would fare without access to the PDA functionality.
So, how likely are you to mobilecatch? Please comment and let me know.
