By way of disclosure, our The JaK Attack! podcast is part of the BluBrry community (I just realized that our bumpers say 'network'. Oh well.) and we're one of the ones running the Wicked Lasers campaign. BluBrry is set to generate more revenue for us in 2 months than The Podcast Network generated for us in 8-months and the reason is two-fold.
First off, Todd knows his stuff. He knows how to land advertisers and that's an area where a LOT of networks and communities fall short. They're in love with the idea of citizen media, but not able to translate that into ROI that advertisers can deal with.
Second, BluBrry podcasters have final say in what advertising deals we accept. We're not going to run the GoTo Meeting spots, for example, because we're primarily a Linux podcast and GoTo Meeting doesn't have a Linux client. Podcasters know their audiences and networks/communities have to allow us to veto anything that is going to alienate our listeners.
When I joined BluBrry I made a note that I was sure I was doing the right thing by getting involved with Todd. It's been a couple of months and I've never looked back.
Congratulations on getting 1/3 of your podcasters making tangible money, Todd. That's a milestone that I doubt any other network can boast.
