Master Maq Launches Podcast Spot

In a sadly rare turn of events, a new podcast host has hit the scene that actually gets the whole thing. After two years of development, Mack (780 area code?? Hello neighbour up north!) has launched Podcast Spot.

What do I like about it? Two Three Four things:
  1. I'm half-assed in the market for a videocast host and I'm not all that impressed with what I see so far
  2. No bandwidth limits and only monthly disk space limits. It works like a hot damn for Libsyn and it's always amazed me that no one else has figured out how to do it.
  3. Did I mention Mack is Canadian?
  4. Reserve upload quota in case I get a little talkative now and again
Unlike many video hosts, Podcast Spot will convert your video upload into no less than 4 audio formats (the Free OGG Vorbis included) and 7 video format (what? No OGG Theora?). As a GNU/Linux user, this bodes well for me. I always have trouble with video formats.

Hey Jon, thanks for checking us out! And for your kind words! We started with what we thought would be the most popular audio and video formats, but I'll make a note of OGG Theora - perhaps we'll add it in the future.

Hey Mack,

I'm happy to see so many formats offered. The only reason I bring up OGG Theora is that since you offer the unemcumbered OGG Vorbis audio format, it would make a great compliment to off the also unencumbered video counterpart, OGG Theora.

Just thoughts...good luck with Podcast Spot. I'll be creating an account once I get off my butt and actually do some video.
