My country, Canada, is in the midst of discussing the possibility of banning new drivers from using electronic devices such as MP3 players and cell phones while driving.
I totally agree, but I don't think this should be aimed at novice drivers. Nobody should be driving around with a cell phone stuck to their head OR an MP3 player stuck in their ears.
Honestly, I love my country, but my government is terminally stupid sometimes.
However, I think the writing is on the wall world-wide about cell phones and MP3 players while driving. Many countries and provinces require handsfree units to talk on a cell while driving and while many people can't see the difference between a cell phone hands free unit and an MP3 player, the difference is clear.
Handsfree units are typically a single ear device. The other ear is wide open to hear things. Further, one generally doesn't have tunes blasting out of their cell phone handsfree unit.
